Carla Blank is a writer, editor, and director.  Her collaboration with Robert Wilson, a performance portrait of legendary choreographer Suzushi Hanayagi, will premiere at the Guggenheim Museum in April.

Hal Gelb is a director, writer and dramaturg.  His credits include the translation and staging of the world premiere of Ghazi Rhabihavi's Stoning and a production of Yussef El Guindi's adaptation of Salwa Bakr's story, What a Beautiful Voice Is Sayeda's, both done for Golden Thread Productions.

   Getting There: Directions & Public Transit Information   
The Timken Lecture Hall is located at 1111 Eighth Street, between Hooper and Irwin. For parking, see Visitor Parking.

By Car:
     From the East Bay: Cross the Bay Bridge. Take the Ninth Street exit, turn left on Eighth, and get into the lane second from the left. Turn left on Brannan, right on Seventh, right on Irwin, and right on Eighth.
     From the Peninsula/South: Take Highway 101 north. Exit at Vermont Street and turn right on Sixteenth, then left on Wisconsin.
     From Marin/North: Cross the Golden Gate Bridge. Take the Lombard Street exit, turn right on Van Ness Avenue, cross Market, and continue on South Van Ness. Turn left on Sixteenth and left again on Wisconsin.
By BART & Bus:
     Exit at Embarcadero station. Walk one block to First Street, turn left, and walk another block to the Muni bus stop (in front of the Transbay Terminal). Take bus 10 to Sixteenth and Rhode Island, and walk three blocks to Sixteenth and Wisconsin.
     Or exit at Civic Center station (Eighth and Market Streets). Take Muni bus 19 south to Sixteenth and Rhode Island. Walk three blocks east to Sixteenth and Wisconsin, and turn left on Wisconsin.
     Also, exit Sixteenth Street station (Sixteenth and Mission). Take Muni bus 22 east to Seventeenth and Wisconsin, and walk one block north to Sixteenth and Wisconsin.

The Live Oak Theatre is located at 1301 Shattuck Avenue (at Berryman) in Berkeley.
 
Map to the Live Oak Theatre   Go here for specific directions from your location, or follow the directions below.

From I-80: Exit University Ave. Go east and turn left on Shattuck. Stay right when Shattuck splits after Vine. The theatre will be on your right.

From Hwy 24: Exit on Berkeley. Go west down Tunnel Road onto Ashby. Turn right on Shattuck. Stay right when Shattuck splits after Vine. The theatre will be on your right.

Public Transportation: Use the Bay Area's Take Transit Trip Planner or, From BART: Stop at Downtown Berkeley. Head north on Shattuck toward University Ave. Either catch the AC Transit bus 7, 9 or 43 across the street and get off at Henry & Berryman, or catch a cab around the corner, or walk the 0.9 mile to the theatre, which will be on your right.

Free curbside parking is allowed on Shattuck and Walnut Streets, on either side of Live Oak Park, between Rose and Eunice Streets. Parking is also allowed on Berryman, west of Shattuck.
